What this means Renters have more leverage together than apart. Tenants in a landlord-friendly state organized for a year, held on through retaliation, and won a binding agreement on repairs and evictions. If it can be done in rural Kentucky, it can be done here.
What you can do about it Talk to your neighbors. Shared problems like repairs and rent hikes are where tenant organizing starts. Keep records: photos, dates, and copies of every message to your landlord. Already organizing? JPC member organizations can request funding for their work.
